What is Nova Independent
Nova Independent is the actualization of my ambition to change the world. A vehicle I've created to explore new ideas with creativity. As a brand, Inspired by the lack of individuality in the age of, mass-produced fast fashion. Something distinct in a world of uniformity.
Where the name comes from & what it means
Brought to life two years ago, I was fourteen, with no knowledge of making clothes, fashion, or managing a business. Everything was completely new and I did it alone, a New Independent. I translated new into latin, Nova Independent. Nova independent is also representative of the personal relationship with Jesus Christ, being independent from everything else. Something new you've never felt before, a love you've never known. Even though It's always been there, you just weren't able to see it; it's not always the eyes.
Outcome Above Ego
OAE*
Putting the opportunity of a greater outcome above the ego, judgment, and criticism that comes with making choices that bring acknowledgement to humility. Taking risks to do things that have never been done before. OAE means commitment, knowing its a step closer to something beyond what most can see. on a small scale, going to the gym because it's good for you, even though you're scared you'll look stupid. On a larger scale, starting a clothing brand as a stepping-stone to change the world. The possibility of the future outcome is more valuable than perceived losses today. Many of us have the means at our fingertips to make a real impact, but we sit in comfortability; out of convenience.
Nova Ecks

Start where you stand, there is no perfect time. The best and only time you can do something is now. Nova Ecks is not the greatest collection but it's a starting point, a place to grow from. is better than no collection. Even if what you do isn't successful, that "failure" is a learning experience that will help you grow, and be more prepared next time. ⠀

The name taken from artist, Lucki, went by Lucki Eck$ in his early career. As he aged and developed in his craft, he dropped the Eck$. Representing my brand and myself in the early stages.

Trees stand tall in storms because they have taken time to build themselves before reaching new heights. A skinny sapling would not withstand much if it were as tall as an old oak tree. The oak tree took time to develop its base and roots, establishing a strong foundation (stay based, Lil B). In the same way, if someone were put in their dream position, they would not be able to preform in the ways needed. We don't know what prerequisites we need to be successful, because our plan doesn't include what hasn’t been revealed yet. So we will practice things that seem irrelevant. We will learn lessons that don't make sense, and go through hard times that seem rotten, but through those events we will learn The Struggle is our Salvation, and he tells us that if you are faithful, the Lord will put you in a position to build yourself up first. If he gave you all you wanted, the height of an oak tree as a sapling. it would not be sustainable, and you would fall. Trust in the Lord, lean on him, and he will build your foundation with you. Trees fall the way they lean, Lean on God.

How I make our garments
Each piece is designed and screen printed by hand in-house. Each patch is hand cut, printed, and sewed. Uniqueness is a cornerstone of Nova Independent, which is why every piece is released limited.
