What is Nova Independent

A vehicle to explore new ideas with ambition and creativity. Inspired by the lack of individuality in the age of, mass-produced fast fashion. Something distinct in a world of uniformity.

Where the name comes from & what it means

This is a personal project I started by myself , a "New Independent". I translated "new" into latin to get, Nova Independent. The name also represents the newly discovered peace, balance, and placidity found in the journey with Christ. Being able to find placidity independently from anything else of the world, (Peace in Jesus).

Outcome Above Ego

Being able to see a something past the ”right now”. Looking beyond the immediate moment when making decisions. Making choices that bring you closer to your goals, above your ego and instant gratification. Prioritizing self growth and becoming the person you want to be. Going to the gym because its good for you even though you scared you'll look stupid; the outcome is greater.

It's important to start where you stand, there is no perfect time. The best and only time you can do something is now. Nova.ecks is not the greatest collection but it's a starting point, a place to grow from and is better than no collection. Even if what you do isn't successful, that "failure" is a learning experience that will help you grow, and be more prepared next time. ⠀

Trees never stop changing, always growing, always in some season, always in flux. The seasons a tree goes through repeat each year and are predictable, unlike the seasons of our lives. What's the same is that one winter is never the same as the next. There are cycles in our lives that do recur, but each moment, each season, carries its own unique circumstances and challenges. After each season the tree grows stronger, just as do we. Adding rings around our trunk. OAE*

How we make our garments

Each piece is designed and screen printed by hand in-house. Uniqueness is one of the reasons this brand was created, which is why every collection is released in small, limited batches.
